Significance of the Forehead and Hand in Meditation

The forehead and the hand are important and significant, and when we meditate, we become aware of our forehead and our hand (or hands).  After people begin to meditate, as we teach, they sometimes feel as though they had a tight headband on their forehead. This is a sign of spiritual discipline and love.

By observing the sparkling light on the inside of your eyelids, or in our more advanced meditation - looking through the center of your forehead - we are, in essence, standing back from thoughts and observing in God's light; thus we are closer to God and have Him foremost in our mind.

This is very good, because it is passive observation. It takes us out of the realm of imagination and images. It places us in a stance of humble waiting upon the Lord. It makes us receptive to inflow of insight and love from Him, at His good pleasure.

The hand, especially the right hand, in the Bible is the symbol of power - in other words of capability, of action, of doing. When we become aware of our hand, we permit the downloading to flow through our body as we activate and consecrate our body to His service.

It tells us in the Bible not to be hearers of the Word only, but also doers. Faith without works is dead, it also says.

Again, our meditation is  very nice because by passive observation and by willingness, we permit the good that enters to spread through the body and energize us with this Divine essence.

This practice is also positively good for your entire body, which for the most part has been abused, enervated, drained, and stressed out. The practice of proper meditation s a healing balm for our stressed out, distraught and distracted selves.

Here are some good references online about the forehead and hand.
